China Tour Tibet

Day 1 Beijing

Arrive at Beijing in early morning. Our first stop is the impressive Tiananmen Square, where most of the national ceremonies are held. From the square, you can walk to the splendid Forbidden City. Upon arrival at the largest imperial palace, travelers are always impressed by the high red walls and large quantity of buildings with golden roofs. Then we walk to Coal Hill, which is a royal garden in the past where we can enjoy a panoramic view of Forbidden City. Then we drive to Beihai Park, a former imperial Garden. After that, we head to the hotel for rest.


Day 2 Beijing

Today we first visit the fascinating Badaling Great Wall; we take the cable car up, and walk down. Then we drive to visit Summer Palace. The palace was used as the royal family’s “Palace to avoid the heat” when in summer. Drive back to hotel.

Day 3 Beijing night train to Xian

Today morning, we visit the Temple of heaven, where the ancient emperors worship the gods, if time is early, we can see local people doing morning exercise there. Then we drive to Shichahai Hutong to visit the traditional residence of Beijing with Rickshaws, which is an old way of transportation. Then we visit Houhai area by walking, which is a part of Shichahai with many local shops, we can do some local shopping here. Evening take night train to Xian.


Day 4 Xian

Upon arrival, we visit South Gate Old City Wall, which is the most complete city wall that has survived in China, as well being one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. Then we go to Muslim Quarter. There are about ten mosques in this area, among which the Great Mosque is the most famous and popular. After that, we visit Shaanxi Historical Museum, known as “the pearl of Xian, the treasury of China” Drive to the hotel for rest and refresh.


Day 5 Xi’an G train to Xining

Today you will be driven to the suburb area to marvel at the powerful Qin Terra Cotta Warriors. Then we drive drive to train station to take high speed train to Xining, transfer to hotel.


Day 6 Xining-Lhasa

Today morning, we visit isit Ta'er Monastery, a famous Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Qinghai Province, the birth place of Gelug sect of Buddhism . After the visit, transfer to train station, night train to Lhasa.


Day 7 Lhasa

Arrive in Lhasa. Lhasa is the second most populous city on the Tibetan Plateau after Xining, at an altitude of 3,490 metres (11,450 ft), Lhasa is one of the highest cities in the world. The city has been the religious and administrative capital of Tibet since the mid-17th century. It contains many culturally significant Tibetan Buddhist sites. Transfer to hotel for rest.


Day 8 Lhasa

Today we will Visit Potala Palace, which is regarded as landmark and the symbol of Tibet, is a great giant palace consisting of many houses, towers, chapels, etc. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Potala Palace is the highest place in the world. Next stop we visit Jokhang Temple, the spiritual center of Tibet and the holiest destination for all Tibetan pilgrims, it is is listed in the World Cultural Heritages with Potala Palace and Norbulingka. After the visit, we have a stroll at Barkhor Street, being “a saint road” in the eyes of Tibetan, you can feel the local spiritual belief by seeing different pilgrims from all over Tibet with different dresses and dialects to pray devoutly along Barkhor Street.


Day 9 Lhasa

Visit Drepung monastery, is known as the most important monastery of Gelugpa in Tibetan Buddhism, the largest-scale monastery among the ones of the same kind. Proceed to Sera Monastery, one of three famous monasteries in the city along with the Drepung Monastery and the Ganden Monastery. It is dedicated to the Gelugpa or Yellow Hat Sect, a branch of Tibetan Buddhism, founded by Tsong Khapa. Todays last stop, we visit Norpulingkha, which contains several palaces, chapels as well as colorful flowers. It is the former summer residence of Dalai Lamas. Many festival will be celebrated here, including Losar Festival, Lantern Festival, Shoton Festival etc.


Day 10 Lhasa-Gyantse-Shigatse

Drive to Gyantse with photo stops at the must-see landscape highlight for tourism in Tibet-Lake Yamdrok and Karola Glacier. Upon arrivel in Gyantse, we visit the Pelcho monastery, the monastery precinct is a complex of structures which, apart from the Tsuklakhang Monastery, also includes its Kumbum, believed to be the largest such structure in Tibet, that is most notable for its 108 chapels in its several floors and the old Dzong or fort. After the visit, we drive on to Shigatse for overnight.


Day 11 Shigatse-Lhasa

Today we visit Tashi Lunpo Monastery, the monastery is the traditional seat of successive Panchen Lamas, the second highest ranking tulku lineage in the Gelug tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. The "Tashi" or Panchen Lama had temporal power over three small districts, though not over the town of Shigatse itself, which was administered by a dzongpön (prefect) appointed from Lhasa. After the visit, we drive back to Lhasa.


Day 12 Lhasa- Chengdu-Emei

Morning transfer to airport, take flight to Chengdu. Visit Wenshu Temple, Wangjiang Park and take a walk among the famous pedestrian street called Jinli Street, where you’ll find all kinds of delicious food and snacks that can make you slobber and forget the tastiness induced coma that fallows. The last site is for overnight.


Day 13 Emeishan-Chengdu

Today we first visit Panda Base. The giant pandas are not only a Chinese national treasure but are also beloved by people the world over. In the base you’ll meet incredibly lovely pandas and baby pandas. Most people couldn’t resist. Then drive to Leshan; The Leshan Giant Buddha is a statue of Maitreya in sitting posture. Facing the river, the Buddha has symmetrical posture and looks which have been beautifully captured in its solemn stillness. It is 71 meters (about 233 feet) high, and has 8.3-meter-long (about 27 feet) fingers. The 9-meter-wide (about 30 feet) instep is big enough for one hundred people to sit on and the 24-meter-wide (about 79 feet) shoulder is large enough to be a basketball playground.


Day 14 Chengdu

Transfer to airport and take departure flight back home
